Early in 2019, the hamlet of Wuppertal - affectionately known in the area as Woeperdal - was overcome by a runaway fire that nearly wiped the village out. Many families were left homeless with just the clothes on their backs. One of S.A.'s most beloved Afrikaans poets, Boerneef, wrote a love poem about this enchanting place. He was born not far from here on the historic farm, Boplaas 1743. As this special place was so close to his heart, we know that he would have loved to see it saved and rebuilt to its former charm.
I invite you to join hands with me to raise money for Wuppertal's fire victims. With this initiative, I contribute two-thirds of the price of each artwork sold to raise funds that will ensure much-needed assistance in the form of blankets for the coming winter.
